Welcome to Psychology Dot News

My name is  Todd Finnerty, Psy.D. and I’m a clinical psychologist in Columbus, OH. I have a private practice with a disability-related niche. I perform medical records reviews on disability insurance claims and on Social Security disability claims and also offer psychological evaluations (IME’s) related to disability and workers compensation. I also pretend to be a writer sometimes. 😉

I’m on a few active listservs for psychologists and I also have a lot of google alerts that send me news on psychology and mental health related topics. I figure around each week or so I’ll offer a blog post either talking about some of the recent news (for example, recently the American Psychological Association welcomed “gun control” in this press release) or perhaps just writing about something psychology-related that I think would be good to write about.

Many of the non-news items I may blog about may be related to disability claims or assessing functional impairment since that is the world in which I live and work. So, what the heck… here comes the blog.
